Tokyo trip
Finally got time to write something here, after all the hectic of settling in, doing admin paperwork n running codes / simulations at the same time.
Talk something abt the 4 days in Tokyo first.
It feel like home arriving back in Tokyo. Narita airport, Shinjuku, Shibuya and even Odakyu train feel some familiar. Only when I arrive at the lodgging that I realise that the olympic youth hostel JJ is refering to is the one that YK n I visited during the 1st weekend of our stay in Tokyo. Was surprise as I remembered that YK told me before that it was in Ikebukuro.
Meeting Matsuba was another high pt, havent seen him for 1.5 years, still the same, loud laughter and good english. chat quite a bit with him. But he has been posted to another dept of Yamatake and didnt have much contacts w the rest of the co-workers I know.
for those who r blur reading this, I went for an overseas internship in Tokyo in Yamatake Corporation 1.5 years ago, for a period of 6 mths. http://community.webshots.com/user/alextanyk
Tokyo was fun, as usual. made a mistake of storing the big baggages in airport, 500 yen per day per piece while it only take 250 yen to deliever it to hostel. Then at shinjuku station, we were asked to pay an addition of 240 yen cos the station masters calculated the fare wrongly.
A pity that the gang cant see mt fuji due to poor weather at tokyo metro building.
We walk alot, covering all the major pts of downtown tokyo in a day, SH n MH were screaming that walking is killing them. Food is gd, esp the sashimi in Tsukiji. They bought Yukata at Asakusa happily. The highlight of the trip is the 100 yen shop where gifts are cheap n big. JJ spoted a mini mahjong set. :P
