元宵随想2 - SSS

Went for the Spore Student Society CNY celebration last sat. wonder why they named it SSS, sound like Spore Secret Society.

There were abt 60+ sporeans, some w families along. Met a guy from my lab, which i had no idea he is a singaporean, cos he speak perfect english w his supvr. Then he start using the 3 L's, lah, lor, le and immediately his status was established.

The whole environment is just homely, Singlish is used commonly and we speak w broken chunks of english, chinese and sometimes hokkien. Singlish is the first thing we look for to identify our fellow singaporeans.

Notice that all pple is chinese, maybe it is cos this is a CNY celebration. Also, there is a high concentration of nerds inside the room :P
