First few days in Mit

now, something abt MIT...

Flew from Narita to Chicago then to Boston. This time, flying after 911 n to USA, I realise the power of the Singapore passport. It take less time going throu the customs and "random checks" are less likely to fall on u.

Flew like mad from Narita to Chicago n to Boston, sleep like nobody business on the plane. Then due to bad weather, the plane cant land in Boston. after waiting n circulating in the air for quite a while, the captain say we r short of fuel, he is going to land in "currier Q", upstate NY, refuel then fly off n landed in Boston again. hence, we finally reach boston at 11+ pm.

settle down in Tangs, first night, area cleaning, clean like mad, then surf online, hungry like mad, have a drink from the vending machine.

next day, look for patera before he fly to spore. discuss abt the masters project but miss the time to meet w the rest of the gang for admin, opening bank, shopping etc. went back dorm, jet lag, sleep from 4 pm to 9 pm.

SH bought a vacuum machine only to realise when i told him that we can loan it from the front desk.

woke up, late in the night, hungry like mad, only have a "decent" meal which is lunch, ever since I board the plane in Narita, that is like 48 hrs!!! no food in dorm, luckily JJ got some food.

MIT really dont have much stuff to help pple settle in. Dinner is hard to get, still cant get a lamp in the room. can u believe it, the room has no lamp provided! SW n MH were saying that how nice Spore is. Really feel so, 书到用时，方恨少。孤身在外，方知家的好。

only good thing i notice till now is the view of charles river is great from tang. i only got a side view but it is good enought. tony was telling me that he stayed in tangs during his studies in mit too and it is the only affordable place to have a view of the charles river. once u r out of mit, u need to be earning millions to afford such a view.


went over to Chinatown yesterday, nothing interesting, got alot of black n viet pple. heard cantonese speaking thou. walk like mad to the super 88 supermarket, but feel like home inside cos got alot of chinese food from China n taiwan. they were playing cantonese new year songs!

Now is 11 am, sat morning in mit, just finished running my simulation n emailed to tony. it is time to buy the lamp that i badly need.
